Lectures

An important part

of the project were the lectures.

Here you can watch the recordings.

Lecture by Anija Miłuńska: Returning Home. The Discoveries of Marija Gimbutas as an Inspiration for the Future.

In this lecture, Anija Miłuńska presents the discoveries of Marija Gimbutas as well as her vision of Old Europe. What was matriarchy, and did it exist at all? Upon which paradigm was the peaceful civilization founded? Where was the first writing on this topic created?

What characterized the religion of the Goddess, and why did it form the foundation for the harmonious coexistence of people and nature? Why, from the Palaeolithic until the Bronze Age, was the Goddess predominantly represented in three aspects: the Great Mother, the Bird Goddess, and the Snake Goddess?

Lecture by Anija Miłuńska: The End of the Warrior Myth.

A lecture by Anija Miłuńska held on the occasion of the centenary of Marija Gimbutas’ birth about why the myth built on the ethos of war and power has reached its end.

Lecture by Natalia Miłuńska:

How do we cultivate peaceful live every day?

I invite you to a conversation about everyday life. How do you feel in it? Is there a lot of exhaustion and effort? Laughter and ease? “Meaning” and achieving goals? What can we do to make our daily lives more relaxed, pleasant, and purposeful? I use the word “peaceful” because I am deeply convinced that when we begin to create peaceful patterns of relationships: with ourselves and with each other, with our bodies, with animals, with the world of nature – our everyday life begins to transform and change.
I will share a bit about how mine has transformed, show three key cultural patterns, and above all invite you to share your own ways of navigating daily life.

Lecture by Anija Miłuńska:

The Great Mother Goddess

Why the foundation of spirituality/the religion of the Goddess is the affirmation of life, and what this affirmation consists of? Who was and who is the Goddess? Were there many goddesses, or only one Mother Goddess?

How and why was the Goddess devalued, and her image distorted? How and why did the archetype of the Mother Goddess survive in the figure of the Virgin Mary, and why is it now returning in its original, full meaning?

Lecture by Natalia Miłuńska:

The Snake Goddess – A Redefinition of the Physical and the Spiritual.

While studying the Neolithic civilization of Old Europe, Marija Gimbutas discovered that the Snake Goddess is one of the earliest depictions of divinity. Who is the Snake Goddess, and what vision of the world does she bring? Who and why depicted divinity as a woman-snake ??
In this lecture, I will discuss what we can read from her oldest images, how she was turned into a monster with the rise of patriarchy, and what she brings when we get rid of the fear of what is fiery, cyclical and embodied.
